22nd Annual Joslin Haggart Yeiser
Unsung Hero Awards

These awards honor the many quiet acts of courage performed by people touched by cancer and those who care for them. Nominations are accepted in three categories: patient, caregiver, and oncology professional.

In 2003, Cancer Family Care established the Unsung Hero Awards in memory of Joslin Haggart Yeiser. According to her husband, Eric Yeiser, Joslin was a quiet hero. “It is fitting that the Unsung Hero Awards be named for Joslin,”

“Even in her last months, when she was suffering from cancer and in pain, she was still able to maintain her smile, and sense of humor, and served as an inspiration to all who knew her.”

“It was a true honor to be nominated by a former patient. Oncology work is difficult but oh-so rewarding.”
